PrintBar Offset Printing Rubber Blanket
Press imperfections show up in the printing blanket. A cylinder that is out by a fraction of a millimeter, a plate edge that does not seat quite right, a gripper mark that repeats every revolution. The offset printing blankets either absorbs these or passes them straight into the print.
What it prints on
Sheet-fed offset. Paper, board, coated stock, uncoated. The air-cushion layer compresses under impression pressure and recovers fast enough for the next revolution. No memory effect that builds up over a long run.
The numbers
Hardness sits at 60 IRHD on the surface, 82 IRHD in the bainite layer. Elongation under load stays below 0.75 percent. Tensile strength above 60 N/mm. Compression set at 0.187mm. These are not marketing numbers. They are what keeps dot gain predictable from make-ready to the last sheet.
Ply and size
Two-ply for the standard job. Three-ply when the press runs faster and the stock gets heavier. Four to five plies for the long-haul commercial work that does not stop for blanket offset changes. Thickness comes in 1.65mm or 1.95mm, widths from 520 to 1480mm, shipped in 25 to 30 meter rolls cut to your cylinder circumference.
Surface
Ultrafine grinding, roughness 0.8 to 1.1 microns Ra. The surface releases the sheet clean, does not hold onto ink that should have transferred, and washes up without swelling under standard blanket cleaners. Blue or green tint depending on batch, same compound underneath.
Packing and care
25 to 30 meter rolls. Keep it flat, keep it dry. Smash a printing rubber blanket in storage and it never comes back. Clean with warm water first for paper dust and water-soluble gum, then a blanket-safe solvent for ink residue. Calcium and magnesium deposits from hard water come off with a weak acid wash. If a paper edge dings the surface mid-run, run a dozen sheets and it usually self-recovers. If it does not, replace the underpacking before you blame the sheet rubber blanket for offset printing.
